Coding for parts you install
When you add a part your BMW didn't come with, the car often won't use it until it's coded. Some modules also need to be told the new equipment is there, or you'll get error messages. Retrofit coding takes care of that.
Common retrofits I code
- Apple CarPlay activation and setup.
- LED or laser headlights and LCI / LED tail lights.
- Reverse cameras and surround-view cameras.
- M Sport steering wheels, including paddle shifters.
- Ambient lighting kits.
- Sport displays and digital clusters on supported models.
How it works
I don't install parts. You or your installer fits the hardware, and I do the coding afterward. Some retrofits need ISTA or E-Sys and a vehicle order (FA) change, which is why retrofits are quoted per job instead of priced as a package.
Before you buy parts, DM me what you're planning and your car. I can tell you whether it can be coded and what's involved.
