F and G series BMWs
I code most BMWs that connect through ENET, the Ethernet connection BMW introduced with the F series. That covers most models from about 2012 on. Here are common chassis codes. Years are approximate for the US market.

| G22 / G23 / G26 | 4 Series | 2020+ |
| G30 / G31 | 5 Series | 2017+ |
| G60 | 5 Series | 2024+ |
| G01 / G02 | X3 / X4 | 2018+ |
| G05 / G06 / G07 | X5 / X6 / X7 | 2019+ |
| G29 | Z4 | 2019+ |
| G80 / G82 | M3 / M4 | 2021+ |
| G42 | 2 Series Coupe | 2022+ |

Don't see yours? Plenty of other models work too, including X1, X2, 6 Series, 7 Series and M models. Just ask.
How to find your chassis code
- Search your VIN on a free BMW VIN decoder; the chassis code is usually listed as the “type” or “series.”
- Or send me your year, model and a photo of your iDrive screen, and I'll work it out.
Why features vary
Two cars with the same chassis code can support different features. It depends on the build date, software version and factory equipment, like headlight type, screen size or the ambient light package. That's why I confirm what your exact car can do before quoting.
Older E series BMWs
E series cars (roughly pre-2012) use a different connection and are coded differently. DM me if you have one and I'll let you know whether I can help.
